Learning about 2-d and 3-d shapes

P4 had a busy week revisiting what they knew already about 2-d and 3-d shapes. They identified 3-d shapes and sorted for different properties such as curved faces, more than 6 vertices and shapes that had less than 8 edges.  Pupils worked collaboratively to make nets of 3-d shapes using straws and masking tape. The pupils were keen to make Chinese shape tangrams too. Interlocking cubes were used at the end of the week to problem solve how many square faces can be counted in various models.
