Rubber Band Racer STEM Challenge
Rubber Band Racer STEM Challenge
Our pupils had a fantastic time building and testing their own Rubber Band Racer cars as part of our STEM learning activities.
Working in teams, the children explored key concepts in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics by designing, constructing and evaluating their racers. Through the challenge, pupils developed their understanding of forces, motion and engineering design while applying problem-solving and critical-thinking skills to improve the performance of their vehicles. The activity encouraged pupils to predict, test, measure and analyse results, helping them to think like real engineers and scientists.
The hands-on nature of the challenge sparked curiosity and creativity, with pupils experimenting with different ideas and learning from both successes and setbacks. They particularly enjoyed testing their racers and making adjustments to see if they could travel further and faster.
It was wonderful to see such enthusiasm, teamwork and perseverance on display throughout the project. The Rubber Band Racer challenge provided a fun and engaging way for pupils to develop valuable STEM skills while enjoying the excitement of practical learning.
