Snow What Now?❄️

10th Mar 2023

Hello P4,

Firstly, I am so proud of all of you for making your First Confession yesterday. It was a special service made only possible because of your hard work learning prayers, songs and confidence to participate in this sacrament.
Well done everyone!💫 Enjoy the Video that has been uploaded to the P4 page.

As school is closed today I am suggesting a few things that you might like to do:

  1. Enjoy the snow!❄️☃️❄️
Go sledding- make a sled out of cardboard if you don’t have a sled. Or build a snowman, have a snowball fight and target practice against a wall. Stomp through the snow making footprints or make a snow angel. Remember to ask someone to take photos and videos for memories.☃️
  2. Make a hot cup of tea or hot chocolate (with adult supervision), and think and say out loud the bossy verbs (imperative verbs) that you use in each step. For e.g. lift, stir, place,… ( This is a practical activity that connects with our instructional writing we have been focussing on in school).

    3. Curl up with a fictional book, when finished reading draw a colourful picture of one of the characters and write 1 or 2 sentences describing them.

     4.  As we were having great fun measuring objects in the classroom and playground yesterday continue some practical measuring at home too- try estimating (guessing) the distance between two objects and use a ruler or measuring tape to find out the accurate answer.

     5. If you can, access www.ictgames.co.ukhitthebutton and practice your multiplication and division facts, doubles and number bonds facts at a comfortable level for you. Try to improve your timings.

Enjoy your day and weekend ahead,

      Mrs McCooey
