Visit from LMC Education – A Taste of Learning

6th May 2026
Today, our class enjoyed a fantastic visit from Margaret from LMC Education (Livestock & Meat Commission), who delivered an engaging and informative session all about food, farming and nutrition.
During the visit, pupils had the opportunity to see food being prepared and cooked right in the classroom, bringing learning to life in a practical and exciting way. The highlight for many was getting to taste the finished dish – a delicious Beef Pasta, which was thoroughly enjoyed by all!
As well as the cooking activity, pupils received free educational booklets to take home. These resources helped reinforce key learning about:

The different food groups and how to maintain a balanced diet
Where our food comes from, including the journey from farm to plate
The importance of caring for the environment
What the Northern Ireland Farm Quality Assured logo represents, and how it ensures high standards in food production

The session was both enjoyable and highly informative, giving pupils a deeper understanding of healthy eating and the importance of locally sourced produce.
We would like to thank Margaret and LMC Education for a memorable and valuable learning experience.
